OKRA WALNUT SALAD

Okra Walnut Salad is one of my favorites for the holidays.
It not a lot of time involved in it and it is to die for. This
reciepe I found in the Southern Living Magazine in 2004 (December Issuse)

So here's what ya gotta have to get this started:

1(24-ounce) frozen breaded cut okra
3 (5-ounce) packages salad greens
1 large red onion, thinly sliced
1/2 to 1 cup chopped walnuts, toasted I use 1 cup
1 (15-ounce) bottle spinach salad dressing
Bake:
Breaded okra at 425 in single layer on a lightly greased
baking sheet for 20 minutes or until golden brown , or fry okra according to
package directions. I use Oven

TOSS together okra, salad grrens, sliced onions, and walnuts in
a large seving bowl

HEAT dressing according to package directions. Serve warm with salad

THIS HAS REALLY BEEN A HIT FOR ME WHEN I HAVE SERVED IT

New Look For Table

I have used this table before on my blog. But I have
never showed the before pictures. This is Chad my
oldest son (Connor and Cooper's daddy). It was
a table and chairs that I bought at a garage sale.
I tried to sale the table with the chairs but it was
so horrible no one wanted it. So my daughter-in-law's
mother suggested that we do it in black. This is the
results of spray paint. Chad did a wonderful job on
painting and covering the chairs.
Thanks again Chad. .

Every Place You Go Has Something Pink For Decorating

Pink must really be very popular this year for decorating.
From trees to manager scenes. The color is such a vibrant shade
of pink. It just looks like it will go with anything. I am going to
use it this year. What about your decorating scheme??

Antique Turkey

This is a beautiful White Antique Turkey. I just fell
in love with. It would be so pretty on the table with
a pretty laddle to serve the gravy in. The price was
just unreal $20.00. So I had to bring him home with
me. If he doesn't get used for the gravy he will add so
much to my table for Thanksgiving.

New Look For This Top Chest

This is decorated with a whole lot of Personality..
This is a Top Chest at Southern Accents that needed
a new look. So this is what I used to decorate this
piece. Isn't it a beautiful piece. I really think that
it has the right touch to make it sale. What do you think??
Would you be able to put this somewhere in your home?

COOPER'S FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY

COOPER AND CONNORCooper's first birthday party!!
His mother chose Mickey Mouse as the theme. They have just
come back from Disney World. This is Uncle Ryan and his
Aunt Erin. He had the best time eating his cake, when it came
time to take it he pitched the biggest fit. You can tell by his
face and hands,he loved his birthday cake.
It was such a wonderful party.
It is hard to believe that he his one year old.

TABLE SETTING WITH MAGNOLIA DISHES

I LOVE MAGNOLIA'S (OUR STATE FLOWER)
I have had this set of Magnolia Dishes for sometime.

THOUGHTS ON THIS PINK BAG

Beverly at How Sweet the Sound is hosting Pink Saturday.

This is a pink purse that I have just fallen in love with..I can't decide if it is worth the cost or not. I may wait until it goes on sale.

Looking for that right kitchen touch

Saparna Canisters
These canisters I purchased from
Southern Accents & Gifts. The salt and pepper
holders are from Southern Living and the Mocha
plate is a piece by Mary Naylor it was the
least expensive from TJ Maxx. So I have
arranged all together and this is how it all
goes together. I am not one to match I love
to mix and match in every room.

New Touch To My Kitchen

This black based glass candle stand I purchased
at Dirt Cheap this week. The regular price was
$39.99 at 50% off. It adds that special something
to my table. At that price I just had to purchase.
The great thing is that it was not chipped or didn't need
any super glue. "It Was All Together"
That is something I don't find very often..

These are such life like characters, which
possess an heirloom quality that can be
enjoyed from one generation to another.
Each fairy has their own personality. Mine

on it, but the border is so pretty and over all
I think that it was a great buy. What do you think?
Today is my first time to try an enter the great things
offered. I am very new to blogging. I haven't

A TASTE OF RED FOR THE TABLE

I have always kept my table set in the past,
but it has been a while since I have. The table
before I sprayed it was oak I just could not find
the right dishes for it.The black makes a big
difference in how dishes look on it. So for the
holidays it will be fun to get back in the habit.
The red just adds so much to it.Most of the time
I will mix and match dishes. I think a table looks
so creative with that type of setting.

My Son Plays A Part In Hurricane Gustav

LOOK AT THIS ALLIGATOR
THIS IS CHAD IN THE SWAMP
Hurricane Gustav swept through south Louisiana
and western Mississippi on Monday, September 1.
The category 2 hurricane caused widespread power
outages in both states. My son was one of the thirty
seven lineman initially went to Beauregard Electric in
DeRidder, La. Leaving there the crews ventured to
Jeff Davis Electric in Jennings La. The EMEPA crews
seeing numerous snakes and alligators while working
on lines and the right of way in swampy areas.
I just have to share pictures of my son Chad and the
guys that went with him. I know there is still
plenty of work to be done in Louisiana but I do
hope that our guys made a difference while they
were there.
