Welcome Home Bella

This is Bella. She is a three month old little Shitzu.
I got her this past Friday night, a guy
from the base here was being transferred.
He had been unable to sell the last two females.
The price was just to good not to buy her. She is
just a sweetheart. Cajun my 8 year old pekingese
is having a hard time adjusting to her. All he does
is growls at her. I came home twice today from
work to check on her. I left her in a puppy crate.
I'm not real sure about the crates. If you have
any experience with keeping a puppy in one
please let me know.
I have never used one before!!!!

We have a Shih-Tzu named Bella, too! How funny! We've had her for a year and a half. They are such sweet dogs and don't shed, which is a plus! Yours is adorable!

We trained our Bella using a puppy crate. We kept her in there through the night and whenever we'd go somewhere. As soon as we let her out, we'd take her outside and praise her BIG TIME whenever she did something! Puppies just won't typically "go" in their crate because that's their home. We never had a problem with our Bella and she was completely trained in a short amount of time.

Enjoy your Bella...she's precious!

Hi Vikki...Bella is a doll baby...I've always used the crate method for training & it works well...If the man you bought her from didn't use this method it might take some more time, but just keep at it... Lots of luck!

She is so cute Vikki! I've been kinda wanting another dog lately. Do they have another one?

What a precious she is.

We have two Boston Terriers that were both crate trained. I don't work outside the home, so their time in the crate is minimal.

I think crate training is an excellent way for them to learn a variety of things including how to sleep through the night and "potty" training.

Our dogs look at their crate (they share one XL one) as their "bedroom" - at night they even put themselves to bed!

Wishing you the best of luck with your new puppy and getting Cajun acclimated to her. :o)

Your Bella is so sweet,

I just got a new puppy too, and crate training was tough at first but believe it or not, it's finally paying off, my Peugeot would scream when me and my husband left the house, so we reward him with treats to go in his crate, when we return home we take him out to potty. Now he goes in his crate if we point to it and he lays down right away, of course the treat thing still happens, but he seems to like it now and goes in there automatically, I guess for us the secret was "Consistency"
don't give up, it will pay off!

Cheers,
Melanie
